Meals are food items in Tangledeep which may be cooked using simpler items at a campfire. Meals may also be purchased from Hildegarde in Hildegarde's Deli.
At the game menu you can find a recipes tableau, which is initially empty. As you mix and match ingredients at campfires, you will eventually find all 18 meals. Cooked meals can be enhanced with bonus effects by using seasonings.
While standing next to a campfire, you can open your recipe book and pick a learned recipe to quickly cook meals from, but this will automatically choose ingredients and may use up foods you don't want in the mix (example: Fruit Bowl would be better made with 2
Juicy Apples, but it may use up
Banana Bunches too, which heal more than apples do by themselves). You also cannot pick a seasoning. This method is useful for those doing speed runs.
